National Citizen Service Taster Day

On the 27th July, a group of 13 young people from the NCS Worthing Cohort had the fantastic opportunity to experience the hospital environment for the day. Here is what they got up too…

“Great experience to see how blood is processed and how doctors and nurses are trained in the simulation.” – Kieran Sleep, NCS Young Person.

“Eye opening experience, got to see areas of hospital normally wouldn’t.” – Sohan Shah, NCS Young Person

“The simulation suite was really fun and enjoyable – the mannequins were really lifelike. They had heart beats, pulses, the eyes blinked and much more! The young people enjoyed examining them and using the medical equipment. I think they learnt a lot from the day and got to see a different side to the Hospital environment.” – Amy Tsim, NCS Youth Worker

The NESTA project is an exciting new opportunity for 16 – 24 year olds to experience volunteering in an NHS hospital in West Sussex. The volunteer taster programme offers a wide variety of activities, and can be based at either Worthing Hospital or St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.
