What a young Care Leaver thought of delivering the Skills to Foster Course
Today, I did a skills to foster course, which is for foster carers to come and learn about young people in care. I gave a speech and did a presentation in front of 15 people.
I think it went well, they took on board what I was saying, I was quite nervous, it’s been a couple of months since I have done one, but I got over it!
I was ok doing the presentation but enjoyed the question and answer time more. There was where foster carers asked me questions about being in care. This is something I like doing, to give the foster carers a different perceptive, what it is like from a young person.
Got some new ideas for this course, I might do a workshop instead, or as well as do a theatre game to change the situation, to help them get the point- understanding things from a young person’s perceptive.
