Today at our meeting we outlined our tasks and set clear future aims and deadlines. Firstly, we completed an activity to familiarise ourselves with our local MP’s and county councillors, by matching their faces with names and job titles.

We then began completing our BYC(British Youth Council) wheels, and got clearer understanding of the skills we will be developing further and how our work through UKYP will help strengthen these skills.

Finally, we spent some time outlining our campaign tasks in the Votes At 16 campaign packs. We discussed deadlines and possible ways we could involve our peers and let our local MP’s see young people taking an active interest in current issues. We hope to hold debates in our schools/colleges surrounding Votes At 16, and hopefully a local MP can attend or view a video of our debate.
