As part of their Racial Equality campaign the West Sussex Youth Cabinet are working with the Community Safety Team to collect your views.
The survey is intended for the team to benefit from you sharing some experiences of racism in West Sussex. This will help to inform future communications campaigns targeted towards a 13 – 25 year old audience. The hope is also that the results will help inform their process for training sessions delivered to staff.
Start Date: 25 February 2021
Closing Date: 10 March 2021

The West Sussex Youth Cabinet needs your voice!
We are producing a short film about the responses young people have to racism in their communities and every day lives.
Whether you’ve experienced it or witnessed it, we want YOUR opinions.
This video doesn’t need to be particularly long, but we ask you to answer the 4 questions below and then upload your video. Alternatively you can also just upload a voice recording of your answers.
You will also be asked to provide agreement from a parent/guardian if under 18. If over 18 you can provide your own agreement to the use of the video.
- Have you, or anyone you know experienced racism? (this can be a simple yes no answer in the video)
- Where did you first experience/witness racism?
- How old were you when you experienced/witnessed this?
- Did you feel safe to speak up about it, and why?
Record your video/audio answering the above questions then upload it via the link below.
The video/audio will be used to create one final video for use in training sessions with staff and teachers run by the WSCC communities team. We can’t guarantee all videos/audio will be used but we will try our best. If you leave your email at the end of this form we will let you know the outcome.
If you want to take part in other consultation you can do so on their young people’s voices website: https://yourvoice.westsussex.gov.uk/young-peoples-voice
